Youth Programs

Luminae’s youth programmes are designed to help teenagers understand the information environments they live inside every day.

Young people are not passive victims of technology, but most are never shown how social media platforms, recommendation algorithms, and digital incentives actually operate. As a result, decisions about attention, belief, and behaviour are often made without full awareness of the forces shaping them.

Our programmes focus on building:

  • awareness of how content is selected, ranked, and amplified
  • understanding of how emotion, identity, and attention are used as signals
  • practical tools for recognising influence rather than absorbing it by default

The aim is not to tell young people what to think, what to believe, or which platforms to use. It is to equip them with the insight needed to make conscious, informed decisions about how they engage with digital spaces.

Delivered through structured workshops and guided discussions, Luminae youth programmes help students move from passive consumption to active understanding – giving them greater confidence, independence, and control in a highly mediated world.
